My favourite films from 2015

Hello! A new year and maybe I'll actually start writing something on this blog?

So, my favourite films that I watched in 2015 (not in order):

1. Whiplash: It's absolutely brilliant. It's very intense and definitely not a film I'll be watching on repeat, but the way it was made was incredible. Miles Teller is such a good actor and he is so convincing. Also JK Simmons was kind of terrifying but that's what made it so great. As well as this, I play the flute in a county concert band, now my conductors have never been that strict or degrading,  nevertheless, I felt like I could relate, which may seem odd. Finally, the cinematography: the lighting and different angles looked so natural.

2. The Avengers: Age of Ultron. It wasn't my favourite film, but the action was really great and I love a superhero film and Marvel did not fail me. Also, unlike most people I liked the relationship between Black Widow and The Hulk. It was the kind of film that made me feel I could change the world and made me wish I could fly or something. That is not a bad thing.

3. Big Hero 6: I really want to go to Japan, this film made me want to go even more. It just looked so pretty. Aside from that though Baymax is potentially the cutest robot ever and I want one. I love Disney and I absolutely fell in love with this film.

4. Kingsman: ahh Taron Egerton is great actor, so is Colin Firth so obviously I loved Kingsman. I had no idea what it was about before I watched it, so I was pleasantly surprised. I've expressed my love for superhero films and so this spy film was actually quite similar. The training process reminded me of X-Men first class and again it just made me feel so motivated. I also really loved the story of how Harry Hart wanted to repay Eggsy's dad's sacrifice, so encouraged Eggsy even though he seemed so unlikely to make it through the process.

5. Tsotsi: It's not a new film and it's South African, it's also probably not very well known, but it was very interesting. It is set in a slum in Alexandra, and considering I want to go to South Africa next year, it was just very intriguing to watch. It makes you question the ethics of Tsotsi's situation and is generally very thought provoking and I would definitely recommend it.
